China's Foreign Trade Reaches a New Peak

According to data released by the Customs Administration, the total value of China's foreign trade imports and exports in 2018 was 30.51 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 9.7%, a record high. Specifically: exports increased by 7.1% year-on-year, and imports increased by 12.9% year-on-year. The annual trade surplus was 2.33 trillion yuan, narrowing by 18.3%.

It is worth mentioning that in 2005, the total value of China's foreign trade import and export exceeded 10 trillion yuan for the first time; in 2010, it exceeded 20 trillion yuan; in 2018, it reached a new high and exceeded 30 trillion yuan, higher than the historical high in 2017 by more than 2.7 trillion yuan.

Li Kuiwen, spokesman of the General Administration of Customs, said that in 2018, China actively implemented a series of policies and measures to promote the steady growth of foreign trade, effectively responding to profound changes in the external environment, and overall foreign trade was stable, stable and progressing, and the scale of import and export reached a record high. China is expected to continue to maintain the status of the world's largest trade in goods.
